The IMMORTALS is a two-channel video piece that documents the social phenomena of the use of smartphones in the L’Orangerie Museum (Paris, France). This work portrays the viewer’s behavior in front of the painting “The Water Lilies” by Claude Monet. The work reflects on how social networks, smartphones and self-portraits (selfie), showing subjects in the foreground and the painting in the background, become relevant when contemplating said work of art. For this, the Ábalos spent 60 hours in the museum documenting visitors.
